Made for music collections: hundreds or thousands of records on your computer, from CDs you copied, music you bought and downloaded, high-resolution files. The bigger the collection, the more Orpheic does for it. It plays your music; it does not come with music of its own.

A library that organizes itself

Point it at your folders, however they are arranged and on however many disks. It finds the covers, the names, the years and the genres, and puts every version of the same album together. Nothing in your files is moved, renamed or changed.

Compare different masterings

Own the same album in two or three versions, say the original CD and a later remaster? Switch between them with one press, at the same point in the music and at the same loudness, even without seeing which is which, and hear which one you prefer.

The rare formats, too

Copies of Super Audio CDs, saved on your computer as SACD .iso files, play directly, without extracting or converting them first. So do DSD files (DSF and DFF), copies of DVD-Audio and Blu-ray Audio discs, and FLAC, ALAC, WAV and other formats. Orpheic plays these copies from your disks; it does not read the discs themselves in a drive.

Your home collection, wherever you are

The music on your computer at home, on your Android phone: in your car, in another city, in another country. Your computer is the server: leave it on with Orpheic open, and your phone plays straight from it. No cloud, and nothing uploaded anywhere.

Bit-perfect, and it tells you

The music reaches your DAC (the device that turns the files into sound) exactly as it is in the file, with nothing changed on the way. A sign beside the output says so in green, and when something on the way changes the sound, it says what and why.

Three colours, and it always picks the true one

Bit-perfect on the go

Plug a USB DAC or headphone amplifier into your Android phone, and your music reaches it exactly as it is in the file: at home over Wi-Fi, or away over mobile data.

Your television, as a remote and a screen

Browse your library from the sofa on Google TV, see the cover large on the wall, and watch the music on analogue meters and other visualizations.

Songwriters and composers

Orpheic knows who wrote each song. Open a songwriter or a composer and see their works across your library, with every recording of each, including the ones where someone else sings or plays them.

A radio made of your own music

Start a record and Orpheic keeps playing similar music for hours, only from what you own, including records you had forgotten you have.

Turn the sleeve over

Beside the record you are playing, its front cover, back cover, every page of the booklet and the disc itself, one after another, like the sleeve in your hands at a record shop. They come from the scans in your folders, or are found for that edition of the record.

A folder of songs from many records is recognised as a mixtape and gets a drawn cassette, not a cover borrowed from one of its songs.

A record with missing or broken files wears a torn corner instead of passing as whole. One press checks them all: 1,918 records in under four minutes, and the second time in two seconds.

Old tags, read right

Names written before today's standard, in Greek, Cyrillic, Hebrew, Arabic, Thai and more, appear as they were meant to, not as gibberish.

What stays yours

This is an early version

Orpheic is free while we are still building it. If something does not work on your computer or with your music, tell us, and we will fix it.

When something does not work, or does not feel right, write to [email protected]. Say what you did and what you expected instead; a screenshot helps a lot. In Settings, Show the log file opens the folder with the program's log, which tells us most of the rest.

Every message is read by a person.
